The ultimate cheese ball recipe for entertaining made with DJ’s Boudain and plenty of bacon, cheese, green onions, and cajun seasoning. Use it in place of boudain dip or as an addition to a boudain charcuterie board!
Ingredients:
2-4 DJ’s Boudain Links
8 oz Chive & Onion Cream Cheese, Softened
2 Tbsp Sour Cream
1/2 tsp Cajun Seasoning
8 oz Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Shredded (divided)
8 oz Pepper Jack Cheese, Shredded (divided)
8 slices Bacon, Cooked and Crumbled (divided)
1/2 cup Diced Green Onions (divided)
Instructions:
Cheese Ball
- Cook boudain by following directions on your favorite DJ's Boudain link package.
- In a large bowl, add cream cheese, half of the shredded cheeses, sour cream, cajun seasoning, and boudain. Mix well.
- Fold in half of the bacon and green onions until well mixed.
- Lay out a large sheet of plastic wrap and place the mixture onto the sheet. Cover tightly on all sides, forming a ball shape with a flat bottom.
- Refrigerate 4 hours.
Outer Coating
- Before serving, combine remaining shredded cheese, bacon, and green onions. Spread out on flat surface or plate.
- Remove cheese ball from the refrigerator and remove plastic wrap. Roll the top of the ball in the mixture until fully coated.
- Serve immediately or loosely cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to server. (No more than an hour ahead of time)
